Blaze rewards Healthy Eating Champions

Our healthy champion Blaze was out and about last week!

He was a special guest at Lyncrest Primary School, Northampton, where he was presenting prizes to pupils who had entered the school's Christmas Family Project.

Families from across the school were tasked to design either a poster or leaflet that provided top tips on healthy eating. The school received over 40 entries of the highest quality which left Head Teacher, Sally O'Neill, and the staff struggling to single out just three winners. Everyone who entered received a certificate, a prize and a 'High 5' from Blaze with the three winners receiving a fabulous cook book to take home and share with their families.

The competition was part of the school's continued work on the Healthier Child Project for which they are a participating school. The county wide Healthier Child Project provides one to one, tailored support to local primary schools to ensure their provisions are of the highest quality in three key areas: Healthy Eating, Physical Activity and Emotional Health and Wellbeing. Over 100 schools from across the county are currently participating on this unique project, if your school would like further information on the Healthier Child Project please contact Simon Fowler at Northamptonshire Sport.
