South Northamptonshire Council's summer programme, 'SPLAT' drew to a close with a week of cricket coaching at Towcestrians Cricket Club. Over 25 youngsters from across the district took up the opportunity to partake in 4 days of professional coaching from Northants Cricket Coaches, and were treated to some of the best weather all summer.

The SPLAT 2009 programme saw a range of Sports, Play, Leisure and Arts activities taking place across the district, with over 2000 children participating in with Badminton, Basketball, Table Tennis, Grafitti Board paiting, Beads and Charms workshops, or joining in the FREE Play Ranger sessions.

The biggest success of the summer was the 'Get Active Day' hosted by Salcey Forest, where over 250 people joined us to try their hand at Archery, Mountain Biking, Den Building, Rock Climbing and many other activities.
