MEND: Mind, Exercise, Nutrition, Do it!
The MEND programme offers FREE healthy lifestyle courses for children who are above a healthy weight and aged 7-13, along with their families. Families take part in fun, two hour sessions, twice a week over a ten week period.
Rather than fousing on weight loss, MEND uses a practical interactive learning approach to teach children and parents weight management skills. This includes:
- Inspiring families to adopt healthier lifestyles
- Enjoy preparing and eating healthy foods
- Reading food labels and healthy shopping on a budget
- Simple but exciting sessions which focus on making exercise fun, including swimming
