This section provides information on developing and improving the performance of sports clubs.
Clubmark Accreditation
The Clubmark Accreditation scheme is a national quality accreditation scheme for clubs that work with children and young people. The scheme applies across a wide range of sports.
The scheme offers a nationally adopted set of standards for enabling National Governing Bodies (NGBs) of sport and their affiliated clubs to set and meet standards that will lead to better quality sports club provision for children and young people.
Clubmark provides clubs with the opportunity to develop to meet nationally recognised standards to ensure that they offer a Safe, Effective, Child Friendly environment.

- Duty of care and child protection
- The playing programme
- Sports equity and ethics
- Club management
The benefits are:
- Support from sports development professionals
- Free or subsidised access to club development workshops
- Access to a club development tool kit
- Local and national recognition
The Club Development Tool Kit
The Club Development Toolkit has been developed at a county level by Northamptonshire Sport to help clubs in the region working towards accreditation. The toolkit provides access to a number of template documents and policies to assist the accreditation process.
