Enhanced Schools Programme
As part of the National Physical Education, School Sport and Club Links Strategy, the School Sport Coordinator programme introduced in 2000 led to the successful creation of five School Sports Partnerships in Northamptonshire. This Government funding came to an end in July 2013, a year after London 2012 with a change in Government.
The new Sports Premium Funding for Primary Schools amounts to £150million per annum and came into effect for the 2013/2014 Academic Year. The funding paid directly to schools has brought new challenges and huge opportunities to increase the provision for PE and School Sport. As a core team, we have worked hard to maintain the structure of the School Sports Partnership across Northamptonshire and support all 322 schools.
The Northampton School Sports Partnership offers bespoke Enhanced Schools offer. The current Enhanced Schools offer will expire in July 2014. We are in the final consultation phase of the new 2 year (2014-2016) Enhanced Schools offer will look like.
