What is Clubmark?

Clubmark is the universally acknowledged cross sport accreditation scheme for community sports clubs run by Sport England's Club Matters. To find out more about Clubmark visit the Club Matters website.

Northamptonshire Sport are licensed to award Clubmark to clubs who are able to demonstrate the required criteria.

Northamptonshire Sport are keen to accredit clubs with Clubmark because it is a sign to the public that our clubs stand for;

  • Higher standards of welfare, equity, coaching and management in community sports club
  • Making sure the nation's sports club infrastructure is safer, stronger and more successful

It shows that our clubs provide the right environment which ensures the welfare of members and encourages everyone to enjoy sport and stay involved throughout their lives.

An accredited club is recognised as a safe, rewarding and fulfilling place for participants of all ages as well as helping parents and carers know that they're choosing the right club for their young people.

12,000 clubs across the country are already Clubmark accredited. If you would like to find out more about how you can join them, click here.

For Clubs that are affiliated to a NGB that is not licenced to accredit Clubmark (see list of licensed NGB's) , Northamptonshire Sport can award Generic Clubmark to clubs.

If you are unsure which organisation you should contact to register an interest in Clubmark, Sport England have developed the Pathway to Accreditation. Please click on the link and answer the questions on their website to set you off in the right direction.
