Adult Learn to Ride Courses

cyling02_jpg

Whether you've never learnt to ride a bike and need help starting from scratch or you just want to refresh the skills you had when you were younger - our Adult Learn to Ride Courses can help.

If you are a complete novice and prepared for a bit of a challenge then with the help of our trained instructors we'll get you started in no time.

Our Adult Learn to Ride Courses cover all the training in 'Bikeability', which is the 'cycling proficiency' for the 21st century and designed to give you the skills and confidence for todays roads.

There are a maximum of 6 places per course. However we can accommodate smaller groups or one to one sessions if you prefer. This can be done on request and at times and a venue suitable to your requirements.

The courses are aimed at adults (18+); bikeability for children can be accessed free of charge through schools. We do offer courses for people with disabilities, either on a one to one basis or in a group depending on the disability. For more information contact

Course Content

The course involves 3 x 2hour sessions covering everything in Bikeability Level 1 and 2.

Level 1 - you will learn to control and master your bike. The training takes place in an environment away from cars or traffic.

Level 2 - you will get out on the roads, providing you with a real cycling experience  so that you are able to deal with traffic on short journeys such as cycling to the shops or work etc.

The National Training Standards require us to ensure you are safe at one level before going on to the next. There is no pass or fail - it not like a driving test. The training builds confidence in your skills.
