Wheelchair Football comes to Northampton

Northampton Town Multi Disability Football Club is working with partners to set up a Wheelchair Football Team to play in the "East Midlands Wheelchair Football League".

The club hopes to receive confirmation on funding applications shortly with the intention delivering training sessions as soon as possible and is also seeking support from local businesses who would like to sponsor the team.

The team is being developed following a successful County Wheelchair Football festival held at Kettering in February where a team was selected to represent Northamptonshire in the regional Wheelchair Football Festival to be held in Nottingham on 25th May.

Wheelchair Football is a sport aimed at players who have physical disabilities; they may be manual or Powerchair users or even mobile but have mobility issues. There is no age or gender limits to playing the sport
