Pirates reach National Final

Pitsford Pirates' team of young windsurfers are riding the crest of a wave after qualifying for the coveted RYA Team 15 Champions Cup national grand final and being crowned Team 15 Midlands champions for the second year running.

Victory at the final round of the four-event 2011 regional series, hosted at Pitsford Reservoir on Saturday (3 September), ensured Pirates claimed the regional crown ahead of nearest rivals, the Carsington Comets from Derbyshire, and in doing so once again won the right to represent the Midlands at the Team 15 Champions Cup, considered one of the most prestigious events in British junior windsurfing.

Pitsford Pirates will now go head-to-head with the top Team15 clubs from nine other regions in the Champions Cup, which will see around 100 sailors in total do battle at Northampton Watersports Centre on 8-9 October.
