New Jogging Group at Salcey Forest

Jog it off for Summer with The Salcey Forest women's jogging group that will be starting on Tuesday 28th June at 11:00am. Join other new beginner who have never run before by getting out and enjoying some fresh air and gentle exercise.

The groups always start with the very basic walk/jog sessions - so don't worry about not having done any running before, the leaders are here to help you start from the very beginning.  The beginners groups are aimed at newcomers or anyone who hasn't put their tracksuit and trainers on for a while, to help you get fitter regardless of age, size, shape or ability.

The groups are led by a qualified leader, Cat Riley, who will guide participants through a series of low intensity gentle walking and jogging programmes with the ultimate goal of reaching a 5km jog after 10 weeks.

The jogging groups are part of 'Jog Northants' a countrywide programme, which is part of the 'Run England' - a national programme supported by England Athletics which aims to encourage people to become more active and fitter by running on a regular basis with likeminded people of similar fitness levels.

Running is one of the best and cheapest ways to burn calories and get into shape.  It will make you feel fitter and look healthier in no time.

The New Salcey Forest group started on Tuesday 28th June but will continue to take new beginners up until week 4. The group will cost £20 for a 10 week course and will continue until Tuesday 30th August. The Group will meet in the overflow car park at Salcey Forest every Tuesday at 11:00am.
