Mallinder Backs The Run
The Saints Rugby Team have put their weight behind the Run 10 and are challenging Northamptonshire residents to enter themselves as individuals or Teams of five into the event taking place on Sunday 3rd October.
Jim Mallinder, director of rugby at the Saints, said: "Running is a great way to raise money for charities and other good causes, especially if you're running with friends, work colleagues or members of a sports club and I'd encourage people to enter as a team. It will also be great to see lots of Saints shirts being worn by the runners!"
Jim, who completed this year's London Marathon and is hoping to join in with The Run 10k, will be the official race starter on the day and will also be running in the 10k race.
Whilst The Run 10 is in the town of Northampton organisers hope that entrants will come from all over the county and even beyond the borders. Starting at Sixfields Stadium the course bypasses some of the most well known Northamptonshire landmarks - Express Lift Tower, All Saints Church, The Guildhall, St.Giles Church, Market Square and the Saints Rugby Football Club.
To enter the event visit www.the-run.org or to look out for one of the entry forms / flyers that will be circulating local gyms, libraries, council receptions and country parks.
