Kettering Disability Football Sessions
On Saturday 30th April an event was held to launch the Kettering Town Multi -Disability Football Club which has been started as a result of partnership working between Kettering Town Supporters Trust, Northamptonshire Football Association, Kettering Borough Council and Northamptonshire Sport.
The event provided an opportunity for young people with disabilities from the Kettering area to receive professional coaching at the Elgoods Brewery Arena, home of Kettering Town FC. Two of the club's first team players, Marcus Kelly and Brett Solkhon, were also on hand to take part in the coaching, which was very well received by all that attended.
On the back of this event, Kettering Town FC coaches will be delivering sessions every Wednesday, 4th May - 31st August, 6pm - 7pm on the 3G Pitch at Tresham College. These sessions are aimed at young people with pan-disabilities and cost just £2 per session. There's no need to book, just turn up and play!
In addition the club is actively seeking willing volunteers that would continue to run the Kettering Town Multi - Disability Football Club. This is essential to ensure the long term sustainability of this provision.
If you would like to put your name forward to volunteer or have any further questions about the project, please contact Shaun Waite, the Disability Football Development Officer at Northamptonshire Football Association on 01604 678409 or shaun.waite@northamptonshirefa.com.
