Celebrating Success!
This year the 2007 Corby Sports Awards are scheduled for Thursday, 4th October, 2007, 6.15pm at The Hotel Elizabeth, Corby.
As in 2006, the purpose of this evening is to say a big ‘Thank You’ to all sports clubs and local schools and to celebrate the progress Corby has made within Sport over the past year. The event also aims to raise awareness of our successes and the achievements of individuals who have shown dedication and commitment within their chosen sport.
This year there are the same categories as the previous awards which again will include the following (please click on the headings below to download a nomination form):
- Team of the Year (Open to club nominations only).
- Coach of the Year (Open to club nominations only).
- Disabled Sports Person of the Year (Open to school and club nominations).
- Contribution to Sport (Open to club nominations only).
- Young Sports Achiever of the Year (Open to club nominations only).
- Sports Personality of the Year (Open to club nominations only).
- Contribution to School Sport (Open to school nominations only - schools contacted directly).
- School Sports Achiever of the Year (Open to school nominations only - schools contacted directly).
Each of the awards will be decided upon by a panel of judges. Please note that the panel will only decide on winners based on the information that is given on the nomination form.
Nominees for each category will be short listed to six, with four teams short listed for the Team of the Year award. Short listed nominees will then be invited to the event and recognised for their achievements with category winners being announced on the evening. All category winners will be put forward to the Northamptonshire Sports Awards taking place in November, 2007.
Please find enclosed the nomination forms for the categories that your organisation is eligible to enter. Ensure that attention is paid to the criteria when completing your nomination form. Please note that all 2006 Award Winners are not eligible to be entered for the 2007 Corby Sports Awards.
