CGF Hold annual conference in Northampton

CGF Conference Northampton

The Child Growth Foundation (CGF) recently held their annual national convention for the second year running at the Hilton Hotel in Northampton with hundreds of families from around the country with children that have a growth disorder attending.

While parents attended a variety of workshops to learn more about the respective growth disorders, latest medical findings and share experiences with others, their children received a day of sports coaching from Northamptonshire Sport Disability Development Officer, Graeme Wilson.

During the course of the day the young people got to try their hand at Boccia, New Aged Kurling, Sitting Volleyball, Cricket & Golf. The sport sessions were also used as a way to help boost confidence and what they are capable of as having a growth condition can often make people very self conscience that leads to becoming withdrawn.

Linda King from the CGF who said "Sport is so important for these people especially when they need a boost! The feelings they get from doing it of achievement, confidence, friendship & enjoyment is irreplaceable and for kids even more so!"
