Angling Taster Day

Image

Mark Eacock, Professional Angling Coach from Worcester Angling Academy will be running a taster day for anyone interested in taking up fishing. This will also be an opportunity to raise awareness in caring for the environment.

Wellingborough District & Nene Angling Club and The Alliance for Black Children, an organization that supports Black Children and their families by providing Holiday Activities, Family Support and Study Support in Schools will be supporting Mark at this event.

The Alliance For Black Children began a fishing club for children aged 8 – 16 years old in October 2007 and have had 5 children attain the Young Leaders Award and 1 young person Sports Leader Level 1 through the fishing club.

Susan Galloway, the Family Support Co-ordinator for the group, explained: “The Fishing Club project has exposed children and young people to activities that they would not normally have access to.  They have learnt to work in teams, gained new skills, be patient and build up self esteem and confidence.”
