Governance of Northamptonshire Sport
Northamptonshire Sport governance operates through a Partnership Group and Executive Board and Themed Strategy Groups.
Functions of the Partnership Group
The purpose of The Partnership Group is to provide a collective and powerful voice for the development of sport, physical activity and recreation in Northamptonshire. It is responsible for all policy and strategy, receives and approves the Annual Report and Annual Budget and monitors progress through key county wide KPIs and assess the impact of the Partnership
Functions of the Executive Board
The Executive Board is delegated authority by the Partnership Group to manage performance and operational matters, ensuring that policies are implemented and strutinising the Business Plan, Annual Delivery Plan, Annual Budget and operational and financial reports, making recommendations to the Partnership Group for their approval.
Functions of the Thematic Groups
The Thematic Strategy groups will be multi-agency groups with responsibility for implementing each of the 10 frameworks in this strategy.
- Increasing the participation of young people in sport and active recreation
- Reducing the drop off in participation in sport and active recreation in the 16-24 age group
- Increasing adult participation in sport and active recreation
- Developing coaches and the coaching system
- Developing stronger sports clubs with more members
- Developing volunteers, officials and the paid workforce members
- Improving talent identification and development
- Improving Disability sport
- Improving Access to Sports Facilitiesand Open Spaces
- Maximising the legacy from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games
