Team Kettering become Superstars!

Team Kettering battled it out against four other teams on Wednesday 6th June at Lings Forum to clench the 2007 Men’s Superstars title.

Five corporate teams descended on Lings Forum Sports Centre on Wednesday 6th June to compete in a growling Men’s Superstars Team Challenge. The teams, which were made up from district authorities from Kettering, Daventry, Northampton, the County Council and Northamptonshire Sport, battled it out and competed in 5 challenging disciplines.

The Kettering Team took an early lead by winning the demanding shuttle runs event. The teams then displayed their skills at team games; beat the keeper (football) and shoot the hoop (basketball).

The basketball was won by Northamptonshire Sport, with Northampton and Kettering finishing equal first in the football competition.

The teams were next put through their paces with the gruelling gym tests, tested their accuracy with the golf, finishing off with the arduous 800metre rowing contest.

The event, was organised by the County Council’s Sports Team to heighten the awareness of Men’s Health Week (11-17th June) and to promote the events taking place across the county during the week. The event also helped to raised money for the ‘Everyman’ Campaign, which raises awareness of and funding for research into male cancer.
