Olympic Handover Festival
Wicksteed Park in Kettering has been selected as one of three flagship events in the East Midlands where there will be a "flag raising moment" to coincide with the handover of the Olympic Flag to the Mayor of London on 24th August.
There will be big screen coverage of the Beijing closing ceremony plus a stage for live performances and 2 marquees and an arena for demonstrations of Northamptonshire's sporting and cultural opportunities.
Up to 10000 visitors are expected to join in the cultural celebration.
