Northamptonshire Sports Awards 2009

World U-23 Triathlon World Champion Hollie Avil was named Sports Personality of the Year at the fifth Northamptonshire Sports Awards, presented by Olympic medalist Katharine Merry at the Park Inn, Northampton.

Hurdler Will Sharman was voted Local Sportsman of the Year, following his success and the recent world championships in Berlin, where he finished fourth and Lesley Sharp was rewarded for her years of service to swimming with the Long Time Contribution award.
