Vanessa Brown, the Director of Northamptonshire Sport, will be leaving the organisation in January 2008 to take up a new role in the West Midlands.

Vanessa has been with Northamptonshire Sport for three years and has overseen the development of the County Sports Partnership during that period, which has seen a growth in investment and a wider involvement of the CSP in both Sport and Physical Activity. Vanessa's new challenge will be to take on the larger Sports Partnership of Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire.

When asked to reflect on her time with Northamptonshire Sport, Vanessa said:

'I have certainly enjoyed my time here in Northamptonshire, and have been privileged to work with and alongside many talented people both within the Core Team and the wider partnership. Looking back over the past three years we have seen a growth in profile and delivery and most importantly improved our networks locally to ensure that what we do within sport and physical activity is what our communities, sports clubs and local people want and need. I would like to especially thank all those in the Core Team who have without question provided commitment and drive to make the partnership work'

Chris Holmes will be acting up into the Director’s role, while the Acting Director is appointed mid January. The recruitment of the Director will begin in earnest in January with the hope to appoint someone late January.
